A conversation about two books by Miodrag B. Ilić with Slavic studies students

May 2026. Łódź, Belgrade, Tokyo. On 14 May 2026, organised by the Department of Slavic Philology at the University of Łódź, a conversation took place between the author Miodrag B. Ilić and Slavic studies students.

The author presented his two books: “Tradicionalni recepti domaće srpske kuhinje” (Traditional Recipes of Homemade Serbian Cuisine) and “Hodočašće Ilije Ilića – Čudesan podvig jednog od div-junaka Velikog rata” (The Pilgrimage of Ilija Ilić – The Miraculous Feat of One of the Giant Heroes of the Great War). He spoke about the research context, the preparation process and the realisation of both publications.

Among those who took part in the meeting were, MA Sanja Miletić, , doctoral candidate Dorota Magda (who collected the students’ questions) and PhD Marek Majer. A particular contribution to the conversation and the presentation of Serbian culture and history was made by Marko Radović, representative of the Radović Foundation, who at the end invited the students to the promotion of the book “Hodočašće Ilije Ilića”, scheduled for 4 November 2026 at the Central Museum of Prisoners of War in Łambinowice.

The meeting was another example of practical academic cooperation that enables students not only to learn about language and culture, but also to enter into direct dialogue with authors and history.
