The Radović Foundation is pleased to support and promote the publication of books that protect and popularise national culture and traditions. One such important work is the book “Tradicionalni recepti domaće srpske kuhinje” (Traditional Recipes of Homemade Serbian Cuisine) by Miodrag B. Ilić.

The book is a true treasury of intangible cultural heritage. On its 344 pages we find as many as 109 authentic, traditional recipes from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century – from a time when one cooked for the family and the whole household gathered around the table. All the dishes were prepared and photographed in home kitchens especially for this publication. In addition to the recipes, the reader also receives a short outline of the history of food culture in Serbia.

The author, Miodrag Ilić, is the originator and editor-in-chief of the portal “Recepti i Kuvar online” and the former director of the company Linkom-PC. He has been active in the IT industry for more than twenty years, and his company has been recognised with prestigious IT Awards.

The culinary portal he created quickly ranked among the 50 best websites in Serbia. The project of collecting and preserving traditional recipes also received institutional support from the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia.

The Radović Foundation played only a symbolic role in supporting this undertaking. The main credit belongs to the author, who with passion and great care saved from oblivion the tastes and stories that form part of the nation’s identity.

Thanks to such books, tradition does not disappear – it continues to live in homes, around the table and in the memory of successive generations.
