June 2026. The Radović Foundation has launched the website Raskršće (Crossroads) (https://raskrsce.org/) – a project to map all cemeteries and memorials of Serbian prisoners of war in Poland. Preliminary information indicates that there are as many as 42 cemeteries and 8 memorials dedicated to Serbian prisoners of war on the territory of the Republic of Poland.

Behind this undertaking stands a deep spiritual need. It is about paying tribute to the memory of our ancestors, preserving the history from which we must learn, and restoring the names of those who perished far from their homeland to spiritual and liturgical life. We must not allow their sacrifice and destinies to sink into oblivion.

Through this project we also wish to attempt to contact and connect the Serbian diaspora in Poland. We are not able to complete it on our own – and precisely for that reason it can become a source and a reason for joint action. Only together, by uniting our forces, knowledge and commitment, are we able to care worthily for the resting places of our heroes.

We hope that thanks to Raskršće (Crossroads) we will succeed in connecting families with their ancestors, as well as inspiring scholars and historians in Serbia and Poland to further research, so that together we may discover the fates of all Serbian prisoners of war who rest on Polish soil.
